Description
A different code on every label
QR codes, barcodes, serial numbers and running numbers.
Send us a spreadsheet of codes and we generate the labels from it. Because every job is different, this one is quoted rather than ordered from the page.
You send the list – Excel or CSV, we generate the codes
Any of nine materials – and any shape, same as our other labels
Quoted per job – tell us the quantity and we price it

HERE’S WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS ORDER MOST
What coded-label jobs usually look like
Popular sizes
- Asset and equipment tags: 5×5 cm, or 6×4 cm rectangle
- Product and carton codes: 12×8 cm rectangle, or 3×3 cm circle
- Scan-to-page stickers: 4×4 cm rounded corner, or 5×5 cm circle
Top choices
- Labels on Roll: codes in sequence on a roll, which is what an applicator or a packing line needs.
- Singles on Sheet: codes laid out on a sheet, easier to check by eye before you apply them.
- Stickers: each one cut to the outline of your design, for coded stickers that are not rectangles.
Three materials most coded jobs use
Waterproof film with a smooth, even surface, which is what a scanner wants. Matte laminate stops glare from washing out a code.
Best for: Asset tags, equipment labels, product and carton codes, and anything scanned more than once.
Transparent waterproof film. The code sits on the packaging with no white panel around it, which suits a printed box or a glass jar.
Best for: Codes on printed cartons and glass. Check the contrast first: a dark code needs a light background behind it to scan.
A shiny, slightly reflective silver film. Your design prints on top, so the silver shows wherever the artwork leaves it clear.
Best for: Serial-numbered asset tags and warranty seals that should look like part of the product, not stuck on it.
How a variable-data job runs
You send the codes; we generate the labels. An Excel or CSV file with one row per piece is all we need. We produce the QR codes, barcodes or numbers from that list, lay them out, and print the run so that every piece carries its own. You do not need to generate the code images yourself. See the full specification and file requirements on our smart labels product page.
Every job is quoted, and that is why. The price depends on how many unique codes there are, the format, the material and the size, and no dropdown can price that honestly. Choose a material and size on this page to see a starting figure, then send us the specification and we come back with a real number. Our general ฿250 order floor and the Try 10 First offer do not apply to quoted work.
Contrast and size decide whether a code scans, not the printer. Keep a quiet margin around a QR code, avoid putting a dark code on a dark or reflective background, and size it for the distance it will be read from. We proof the layout before the run and will say so if a code looks too tight to read reliably.
If every piece needs the same code, this is not the page you need. One design repeated across a run is an ordinary label order, priced on the spot from the product pages. Come here when the pieces have to differ from one another.

Answers to important questions
What to know before you ask for a smart label quote.
The price depends on how many unique codes are in the run, the format, the material and the size. A dropdown cannot price that honestly, so we quote it. Choose a material and size above to see a starting figure, then send us your specification and we come back with a real number.
No. Send an Excel or CSV file with one row per piece and we generate the codes and lay them out. If you already have the code images, we can use those instead.
QR codes, barcodes, serial numbers and running numbers, as well as names or any other field from your list. If it is a column in your spreadsheet, it can be a different value on every piece.
A matte or unlaminated film, on a light background. Gloss and metallic surfaces can throw glare into a scanner, and a dark code on a dark or reflective background may not read at all. Tell us where it will be scanned and we will say which of the nine suits it.
It depends on how much data the code carries and how far away it is scanned from. As a rule, leave a clear quiet margin around it and do not shrink it below about 15 mm square for a short URL. We check the layout and tell you if it looks too tight.
Tamper-evident stock is something we quote separately. Ask for it when you send your specification. Metallic silver is a decorative film, not a security substrate, so do not rely on it for authentication.
Yes, and that is an ordinary label order rather than this one. Use the product pages, where the price is on screen and you can order directly.
Three business days in production once the artwork and the code list are approved, then one to two days in transit. The quote and approval step comes before that, so allow a little longer than a standard order.
